You Lack Nothing, Just Use What God Gave You

Have you ever had the idea to try something different, or had the idea to create something new? Often, we talk ourselves out of that idea. I am guilty of doing this…too many times. I have talked myself out of a lot of great ideas and a few dreams because I doubted myself.

Why are we most critical of ourselves? Why do we question our abilities? Why do we doubt the gifts and talents that God has given us? Yes, that is right. When we doubt ourselves, we are doubting the talents that God has given each of us.
God’s plan is not for us to give up on the talents He has instilled in us but rather for us to follow Him and put the talents that He has given to us to good use. God wants us to use our gifts and talents for Him.

“There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work” - 1 Corinthians 12:5-6

Your gifts can be used for the glory of God.

God is perfect and does not make mistakes. He made you exactly the way you are and did so for a reason. God made you good and God has a good plan for you! There is no good reason for doubting yourself if you can remember that you were created by a perfect God, and He gave you everything you needed to please Him.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” - Genesis 1:31

Maybe you are reading this and are unsure about what God wants you to do for Him. This is a great opportunity for you to take a good look at the things that you are good at. Maybe you are an amazing baker. Bake your favorite cookies on a Saturday morning, and then gift those delicious cookies to your neighbors, or to the elderly in the nursing home. Sharing your gift with others is an expression of love. God is love.

I am praying more now than I have ever prayed before. Yes, times are difficult and uncertain…but sometimes I pray simple prayers to God. I talk with him when I am unsure how to handle certain situations. And yes, I talk with Him to ask Him what I should do next. I may not get an audible voice with a direct answer, but He does answer. God sometimes opens unexpected doors that will allow you to use your gifts and talents. Other times he sends a sense of peace, calm, and reassurance within my spirit when I am contemplating an idea or thought. When that sense of peace comes, I no longer have self-doubt…because I remember that God is with me, and He has given me everything I need to please Him.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11
